Christmas in Oregon

This year for Christmas I headed up to Oregon before the holidays to visit with some of my girlfriends from college. It was great to see all of you and I look forward to visiting again soon. On Wednesday, I picked Ryan up from the airport and we headed down to Roseburg to spend my birthday and Christmas with his family. On Christmas Eve, we attended a church service held by the pastor that married us. After, Ryan's family took me to my favorite Chinese restaurant. I couldn't believe how packed the place was on a holiday. His family was a blast...taking shots at the bar to celebrate! They tried to get me to join in the fun but, I kept making excuses. Little did they know that they were in for a big surprise the next day! On Christmas day, we went o Ryan's grandparents house for dinner. After all the presents were opened, we handed his mom and grandma two christmas cards. In each card was an ultrasound picture and the announcement that I'm pregnant! Everyone was so happy for us!

Two weeks ago, during Ryan's birthday weekend in Tahoe, I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I was so shocked but so happy. I woke him up at 6am to tell him the news and he sat straight up in bed from a dead sleep with a big smile of his face. It was pretty funny. We wanted to wait to tell his family over the holidays in person. Now, finally everyone knows! We feel so blessed for this future addition to our family. For the most part, I have been feeling good, just really tired with only a couple instances of morning sickness. I did have some complications during the first month but, the doctors seem to be optimistic about me carrying to term. I am almost nine weeks along and have already seen the baby's heartbeat. At our next visit mid January we hope to not only see the heartbeat but also hear it. It's crazy to think of a life growing inside of you. I am so excited to be a mom!

We also have some other big news. Our condo sold and we have to move by February. Although it is a pain to move, this was the push we needed to get things going on our move to Arizona. The plan right now is I will make the move by the beginning of February and Ryan will follow once his job situation is set. We are plannig to rent a house initially to figure out which city we would enjoy living in the most. By the end of next year we plan to purchase our first home. I will most likely be temping as a hygienist to get a feel for the different areas and different types of dental offices in order to figure out the best fit for me and Ryan will most likely transfer jobs within his current company when we move.

So many big changes are ahead of us in 2010! We look forward to keeping you updated. Thursday we are off to the Rose Bowl! Go Ducks! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I promised to post a pic of Parker in the dog bed!

Christmas shots!
