Pearce Party of Four:: moving and having a newborn

Week two has come and gone and we have new updates for you. We started off the week with Riley's second doctor visit. She has regained her original birth weight back and an additional 2 oz. She is healthy and for the most part, a happy baby. The only time she gets fussy is when she has gas...and she just happens to have a lot of that! The doctor thinks she might have a mild case of colic since it happens during a certain time of time and lasts for a couple of hours. Unfortunately for us, this time seems to be in the middle of the night when we are trying to sleep!

My parents came to visit us and to help us out with the baby and our big move into our new house. I don't know how we could have gone through this transition without them. They were such a big help. Thank you so much for everything. You have no idea how much we appreciated having you around this past week!

We moved into our house on Monday. It has been pretty hectic with getting things organized and taking care of a newborn. I have been having a hard time adjusting to this new life. I love my daughter so much but, all this lack of sleep has really been getting to me. The past couple of nights have been better. Today is the first day since I had her that I am starting to feel a little more like myself again. Ryan continues to be helpful and understanding with my mood swings and crying sprees. No one can really prepare you for motherhood. Before I had her I thought the labor was going to be the hardest part. Turns out that was the best part for me. The first couple of weeks have been rough but, I know that it will get better.

Riley continues to get more alert everyday. She is trying to focus on things but still isn't there yet. She looks exactly like Ryan...I don't see much of myself in her yet. My dad got some great shots of her this past week. Thought you all might like to see =) Hope you enjoy the latest pics!
